Peanut Butter & Jelly

The Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich is listed first for a reason, it is the most important sandwich you will make. It creates a base for the pyramid of other sandwiches in the world. A simple combination of peanut butter, and jelly, but not to be underestimated in power, flavor, and all around fun. You may think that this sandwich is extremely easy to make. You are wrong. Each and every sandwich is special, and deserves attention in many places to create something out of the ordinary. As such, there are many different varieties of the PB&J, I will be covering the recipe I most often use, and have found to be very rewarding.

Ingredients

Peanut Butter

There are many kinds of Peanut Butter, I prefer Adam's crunchy, as it is crunchy and therefore good. Although you may use creamy peanut butter, your sandwich will not be near as good.

Jelly

There are literally hundreds of combinations of flavors from different companies, although of Grape, Strawberry, Raspberry, and Blackberry, I would have to say that Blackberry is my favorite. Your mileage may vary, don't hesitate to try all different kinds out.

Bread

Bread is possibly the most important part of a sandwich, and for that reason I would say that it is a must for you to find one that works best for you. From a health standpoint, some sort of wheat bread is a better choice, and it tastes better than white bread anyway. No matter what you choose, it is important that your bread by strong enough to withstand spreading upon, and toasting. And, as always, don't use moldy bread.

The Process

1. Toast your bread. Toasted bread tastes better and is warm.
2. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING! This is the step in which people mess up most often. It is imperative that you apply the layer of Jelly before the layer of PB. Why? That way you don't mix PB into Jelly, which tastes horrible when you are having toast with Jelly.

****** WARNING ******
I have been alerted to a possible flaw in my logic in this step. That being that if you are using a peanut butter that does not require refrigeration, you may mix jelly into the peanut butter. Jelly, unlike peanute butter, will rot if left unrefrigerated. Please take caution in this step, and make sure you get all of your immunizations. A special thank you goes out to this site's health advisor, Alisa, for possibly saving the lives of many people.
****** WARNING ******

3. Knowing that you have come past the most difficult part, spread the PB. Be careful as to not crush the bread.
4. Put both of the pieces together.
5. Sit down in a comfortable position. Eat. Enjoy.
